Our Story

 

Dobesh Spice and Seasoning is a second-generation family-owned and veteran-led business rooted in the heart of Texas. Our founder, Larry Dobesh, grew up in East Bernard, just outside of Houston, and developed a passion for hunting and BBQ cook-offs. During the 1970s and 1980s, while working as a butcher on North Shepard in Houston, Larry began crafting his now-renowned blend of seasonings and smoked sausages.

In the 90s through the mid-2000s, Larry continued his flavorful journey alongside his cousin Charles at B&D Meat Co., where their combined expertise further refined and expanded the Dobesh Spice and Seasoning product line.

In 2022, Larry's sons, Steven & James, took over the business and began selling on Amazon, Walmart, Online, and with other retailers and distributors. We are proud to have sold and shipped our seasonings to all 50 States. 

After battling stage-4 cancer, Larry passed away on December 21, 2024, but his memory and legacy lives on. In honor of him, we rebranded his favorite seasoning as "Larry's Steak Seasoning."
